At the young age of 32, with five year old twins at home, I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer November 7, 2012. After further treatment & receiving the news that I was cancer free, I soon realized that my cancer was hereditary. I was diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome February 2013 through genetic testing of my tumor (PMS2) It was passed down to me from my maternal great grandmother who had pancreatic cancer & her son (my maternal grandfather) who died of colon cancer in his 50s. Had I known that hereditary cancer existed in my family, I could've elected to have a voluntary hysterectomy after my children were born & I would've never endured uterine cancer. Now that I know, I'm very proactive with my health care. I've learned to unfear the unknown. Live for each day, simply because we never know what tomorrow will bring.
